It was pretty much what we expected, and what we didn’t want to hear. Dr Holloway called us Friday evening, August 25th, to deliver the news. It had been confirmed from her pathology reports that she officially had Hemangiosarcoma. How bad it was, how much it may or may not have spread, we don’t know. We do know that when he did her splenectomy, that he didn’t see that it had spread anywhere else yet, at least it wasn’t big enough to be noticeable.
I cried after we got off the phone as I worked to prepare her meals for the week. It was sad, that our gorgeous dog is probably going to suffer the same fate as so many others. This cancer is likely going to spread through her perfect little body, and there’s not really a way to stop it. It really sucks, that we have all been so affected by cancer. This can’t be all our fates, can it? We’re hoping her being on a keto diet really does have a positive impact on her quality of life and well being, but only time will tell.
